How Sigma's Factoring Works

Not Just Fast — Structured Right

Speed is table stakes. The four things that actually differentiate Sigma's factoring from every competitor.
Speed

First Invoice Funded Within 48 Hours

Your first invoice is funded within 48 hours of your completed application — reviewed by a licensed underwriter, not a scoring algorithm. Subsequent invoices on an active account fund in 4 hours. No committee. No 7-day wait.
Risk Protection

Non-Recourse & Credit Risk Insurance Options

If your customer becomes insolvent and can't pay, Sigma absorbs the loss. You keep the advance. Most factoring companies charge extra for non-recourse or offer recourse-only. At Sigma, non-recourse is a standard option — not a premium tier.
Underwriting

Your Customers' Credit — Not Yours

We underwrite the creditworthiness of your invoice counterparties — not your business's credit score, revenue history, or personal assets. If your customers are creditworthy businesses or government entities, your invoices likely qualify regardless of your own credit profile.
Flexibility

Flexible Terms

Factor one invoice or your full A/R — on your schedule. No minimum monthly volume. Flexible term commitment. You can also factor selectively: specific customers, specific invoices, specific periods. We structure around your actual situation.

The Process

From Invoice to Funded — What Actually Happens

Customer pays, reserve released

Your customer pays Sigma when due. We release the remaining balance minus our flat fee. Transaction complete.

Know Your Options

Recourse vs. Non-Recourse Factoring

Both options are available through Sigma. Understanding the difference is important before you sign.
Recourse Factoring

You bear the credit risk

If your customer doesn't pay, you must buy back the invoice from Sigma. You are responsible for the outstanding balance.
Lower fee — you retain the risk
Standard in the industry
Best for highly creditworthy customer portfolios
Non-Recourse Factoring ✓ Sigma Default

Sigma bears the credit risk

If your customer becomes insolvent and can't pay due to financial failure, Sigma absorbs the loss. You keep the advance and owe nothing.
Credit risk transfers off your books
Protects against customer insolvency
Standard option at Sigma — not a premium add-on

Common Questions

Invoice Factoring FAQ

Get in touch

What's the difference between factoring and a bank loan?

Factoring is a sale of receivables — not debt. It doesn’t appear on your balance sheet, doesn’t trigger bank covenants, and is underwritten against your customers’ credit rather than yours. There’s no repayment schedule because repayment comes from your customer’s payment of the invoice.

Will my customers know I'm using factoring?

Yes. A Notice of Assignment is sent to your customers directing payment to Sigma. This is standard practice in B2B finance — your customers have almost certainly seen it before. Our team contacts them professionally on your behalf.

What's the fee structure?

One flat discount fee per invoice. Based on your industry’s risk profile, your customer’s creditworthiness, and your invoice terms. No wire fees, no monthly minimums, no setup fees, no termination penalties. Your exact fee is shown in full before you sign anything. Use the estimator above for a working figure.

Is there a minimum volume or long-term contract?

No minimum invoice size. No minimum monthly volume. Our standard agreement is month-to-month with 30 days notice prior to renewal. No annual commitment, no termination penalty. We can also build custom exit provisions into your agreement.

Does factoring affect my existing bank line or covenants?

Factoring is a sale of receivables — not a loan. It doesn’t appear on your balance sheet as debt. We file a UCC-1 against your receivables (standard in factoring), which is structured to coexist with most existing bank facilities. We review your agreements before onboarding.
