Our Approach

How Sigma Works for Staffing Agencies.

Payroll-Speed Funding

We know your payroll cycle doesn't wait for your clients' AP department. First invoice funded within 48 hours, repeat invoices in 4, so your team is paid on time — every time.

W-2 and 1099 Invoices Accepted

We fund invoices for both direct placements and contract staffing. Whether your workforce is W-2 or 1099, there are no gaps in your advance coverage.

Non-Recourse Protection

If a client goes out of business while you're factoring their invoice, we absorb the loss — not you. Take on new clients without betting the agency on their credit risk.

Professionally Managed Collections

Our team contacts your clients professionally and on your behalf — exactly as you would. Your client relationships stay intact, and your reputation is protected throughout.

Staffing FAQ

Everything You Need to Know Before Your First Invoice.

Get in touch

Will my clients know I'm using factoring?

Yes — a Notice of Assignment (NOA) is sent to your clients directing payment to Sigma. This is standard, widely-used industry practice and does not signal financial distress. Our collections team contacts your clients professionally and courteously, exactly as you would. Many clients never notice any difference in how they’re invoiced or followed up with. We handle communications as an extension of your business, not a collections operation.

What's the advance rate on W-2 vs. 1099 invoices?

Both are eligible. The advance rate on your invoices is based on your client’s creditworthiness and invoice type — not your agency’s financials. Use the estimator above to see a typical advance for your invoice amount. Your exact rate is shown in full in your proposal before you sign anything.

How fast can I get my first invoice funded?

Your first invoice is funded within 48 hours of your completed application while your account is set up. Once your account is active, subsequent invoices are funded within 4 hours of submission.

What happens if a client disputes a placement?

We work with you to resolve disputes collaboratively. Under non-recourse factoring, we absorb credit risk — meaning if your client becomes insolvent and cannot pay, that loss is ours. Placement disputes (where a client disputes the work itself, not their ability to pay) are handled case by case and are separate from the non-recourse protection. We’ll walk you through how disputes are handled for your specific invoice types during onboarding.

Is there a minimum monthly volume?

None. We work with staffing agencies at every stage of growth — whether you’re funding one invoice a month or hundreds. There is no volume floor to qualify, no volume tier you need to stay in, and no penalty for slower months. Use Sigma when you need it, step back when you don’t.

Do you factor temp staffing invoices as well as direct hire?

Yes. We fund temp and contract staffing invoices — the ongoing weekly or bi-weekly invoices from active placements. Direct hire placement fees are evaluated separately and are eligible depending on the client relationship and invoice structure. Ask your account executive about your specific billing arrangement.

What documents do I need to get started?

Typical requirements to open your account:
✓ Signed factoring agreement
✓ Copies of invoices you want to factor (first batch)
✓ Your client list with contact details for NOA delivery
✓ Basic business documentation (articles, EIN confirmation)
✓ Voided check for wire instructions
Your account executive will walk you through the full checklist and review your specific invoice types during the onboarding call.
